Children of Peniel Center Orphanage

A Letter from Gideon and Jennifer, caretakers of Peniel Center Orphanage:

"We are really thankful to God for His faithfulness and goodness to Peniel Centre even in the midst of insurmountable challenges that we are going through. Peniel Centre staff members and children are very grateful to you for your partnership in brightening the future of orphans and vulnerable children. We are thankful that through your support the lives of children have been changing and is making the children to look at life with a positive perspective.

The economic problems coupled with COVID 19 challenges have affected Zimbabwe very much and Peniel Centre is one of the institutions that is really feeling the impact of the challenges. It is very much expensive to buy food and pay for services in Zimbabwe at the moment and this has sadly affected Peniel Centre so much, that it is now a bit difficult to have enough food throughout the month.  We would like to ask you please to keep on praying for Peniel Centre especially for provision and protection. We have just added a new young man at the centre at the beginning of October this year and another young girl is on her way to the centre. Please find herein below the brief story of this young man:

Tineyi

He doesn’t really know his biological father and his mother is a homeless alcoholic. This young boy has been living from one place to another and had never had a fixed abode. We are grateful to Peniel centre that when this boy was about to join other young men in the streets of Bulawayo, Peniel centre became the place of rescue for him. He was literally picked up at the edge of becoming a notorious street young man and was brought to Peniel centre where there is a loving family as well as a stable home for this wonderful and intelligent young man. He will be joining the rest of the children in going to school when all schools are open as from the 26th of this month. Would you please pray for his bedding (we need a bed, blankets, and sheets); pray also for better clothes and school uniforms as he will be going to school at the end of this month.

We do have tomatoes and onion in our garden which we have just started selling to the people from the surrounding communities. Our biggest challenge that we have now in our garden is the issue of the borehole that is not working. We do have two boreholes at Peniel Centre, one supplies the centre with water while the other one supplies the garden with water for irrigation. The one that supplies the garden has dried up due to drought and need to be deepened to get more water. We are at the moment relying on one borehole to provide water for cooking, bathing, watering the garden etc. and this strains it. Please pray for enough water for the centre.

Thank you

Thank you so much for your prayers and partnership."

Blessings,

Gideon and Jennifer Chishamba, caretakers of Peniel Centre Orphanage
